Our First Aid Safety training course prepares employees to recognize and respond to workplace injuries and medical emergencies. Workplace injuries occur in every occupational setting — even when all possible precautions are taken, accidents can still happen, and some may be life threatening. Employees who know the correct first aid procedures can provide vital assistance to an injured coworker, help stop bleeding, prevent a minor injury from becoming serious, and potentially save a life in the critical minutes before emergency services arrive. This 21-minute program covers a broad range of first aid topics applicable across all industries and workplaces. Available in English and Spanish.

Commonly paired with this course for a complete emergency preparedness program:

  • Bloodborne Pathogens Training — first aid response frequently involves contact with blood and bodily fluids; this course covers OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030 requirements for protecting employees who may be exposed during a first aid situation.
  • Emergency Planning Training — covers how to develop a written Emergency Action Plan under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.38, which must address first aid response procedures, medical emergency reporting, and designated first aid responsibilities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is first aid training required by OSHA?

Yes. OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.151 requires employers to ensure the availability of medical personnel for advice and consultation on matters of employee health. Where a medical facility is not reasonably accessible, employers must ensure that at least one person is adequately trained to render first aid. OSHA also requires that first aid supplies be readily available. This course provides the foundational awareness training that supports those requirements — employees in designated first aid roles should also receive hands-on first aid and CPR certification from an accredited provider.

Does this course certify employees in CPR?

No. This course includes an overview of CPR as part of its first aid awareness content, but it does not provide CPR certification. CPR certification requires hands-on skills practice and testing with a certified instructor. Employees in designated first aid or emergency response roles should complete a full CPR and AED certification course through an accredited provider such as the American Red Cross or American Heart Association in addition to this training.

What is the connection between first aid and bloodborne pathogens?

When providing first aid, employees may come into contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials — creating a risk of bloodborne pathogen exposure. This course covers basic bloodborne pathogen awareness as part of its first aid content. For employees whose duties include regular first aid response, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030 requires full bloodborne pathogens training. Our dedicated Bloodborne Pathogens course covers these requirements in full detail.

Does this subscription automatically renew?

Yes. This is a prepaid subscription that automatically renews at the end of each term at the then-current price unless canceled. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time through your account portal.

What's the difference between Streaming, MP4, USB, and DVD?

Streaming gives you instant online access from any device — no download required. MP4 is a one-time download you host on your own platform such as an LMS, file server, or SharePoint. USB and DVD are physical media shipped to you, best for classroom training where internet access is limited or unavailable.

If I purchase the USB, can I copy the video to share with others?

No. The video on the USB is encrypted and licensed to only be played from the USB. It must be inserted in your computer for it to play.

What documentation is provided for compliance recordkeeping?

The kit includes a compliance manual, employee quiz and answer key, completion certificates, wallet/ID cards, an attendance log, a training outline, and first aid supplemental printouts — everything needed to document that training was completed.

How do I access the Documentation on the DVD?

You will need to access the DVD with a computer so you can browse to the Documentation folder.
