Our Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training course helps employees and employers understand how to select, use, and maintain PPE in compliance with OSHA Standards 29 CFR 1910.132-.138. OSHA requires the use of PPE to reduce employee exposure to hazards when engineering and administrative controls are not feasible or effective in reducing exposure to acceptable levels. Employers are required to determine whether PPE should be used to protect their workers, and many other OSHA standards — such as Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical Safety, and Permit-Required Confined Spaces — require the use of specific PPE as it pertains to that particular hazard. This 24-minute program covers what PPE is, how hazard assessments determine PPE needs, the types of PPE available, and how to properly maintain and sanitize protective equipment. Available in English and Spanish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this training satisfy OSHA requirements?

Yes. This course covers the general PPE requirements of OSHA Standards 29 CFR 1910.132-.138. Please note that specific types of PPE — such as eye and face protection, respiratory protection, and head protection — are also addressed in separate, more detailed OSHA standards. This course provides a comprehensive foundation; deeper, equipment-specific training is recommended for high-hazard PPE categories like respiratory protection.

Who is financially responsible for providing PPE?

In general, OSHA requires employers to provide and pay for required PPE, with limited exceptions such as everyday safety footwear and prescription eyewear in certain circumstances. This course covers OSHA's PPE payment requirements in detail, including which items employers must provide at no cost to employees.

What is a PPE hazard assessment?

OSHA requires employers to conduct a hazard assessment of the workplace to determine if hazards are present that necessitate the use of PPE. This assessment must be documented and identifies the specific PPE needed for each job task. This course covers how to conduct and document a proper hazard assessment as required by OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.132.

Does this subscription automatically renew?

Yes. This is a prepaid subscription that automatically renews at the end of each term at the then-current price unless canceled. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time through your account portal.

What's the difference between Streaming, MP4, USB, and DVD?

Streaming gives you instant online access from any device — no download required. MP4 is a one-time download you host on your own platform such as an LMS, file server, or SharePoint. USB and DVD are physical media shipped to you, best for classroom training where internet access is limited or unavailable.

If I purchase the USB, can I copy the video to share with others?

No. The video on the USB is encrypted and licensed to only be played from the USB. It must be inserted in your computer for it to play.

What documentation is provided for compliance recordkeeping?

The kit includes a compliance manual, employee quiz and answer key, completion certificates, wallet/ID cards, an attendance log, a training outline, and PPE training handouts — everything needed to document that training was completed and maintain OSHA compliance records.

How do I access the Documentation on the DVD?

You will need to access the DVD with a computer so you can browse to the Documentation folder.
