Our Fire Safety training course helps employees understand fire hazards, fire prevention, and what to do in a fire emergency in compliance with OSHA Standards 29 CFR 1910 Subparts E and L and 29 CFR 1926 Subparts C and F. Fire safety is everyone's responsibility — employers are required to ensure all workers are aware of fire hazards and know their facility's fire emergency plan. Whether employees need to evacuate or operate firefighting equipment, proper training is essential to keep them safe. This 20-minute program covers how fire works, classes of fires, sprinkler systems, fire prevention plans, fire extinguisher use, and what to do during a fire emergency. This training serves as a solid foundation for fire emergency preparedness and works best when used alongside workplace-specific plans and drills. Available in English and Spanish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this training satisfy OSHA requirements?

Yes. This course covers the fire safety training requirements of OSHA Standards 29 CFR 1910 Subparts E and L (general industry) and 29 CFR 1926 Subparts C and F (construction). Please note that OSHA also requires a written Fire Prevention Plan for most employers, which must identify fire hazards, fuel and ignition sources, and housekeeping procedures. This training provides the foundational knowledge for employees — the written plan must be developed separately by your organization.

Does every employee need to know how to use a fire extinguisher?

OSHA requires that employees who are expected to use fire extinguishers receive hands-on training annually. This course covers how to select the right extinguisher and use the PASS technique (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep). However, OSHA also allows employers to establish an evacuation-only policy — meaning employees are only expected to evacuate, not fight fires. If your policy requires evacuation only, employees still benefit from understanding fire extinguisher basics and the classes of fires covered in this course.

What are the classes of fires and why do they matter?

Fire classes (A, B, C, D, and K) categorize fires by the type of fuel involved — ordinary combustibles, flammable liquids, electrical equipment, combustible metals, and cooking oils respectively. Using the wrong type of extinguisher on the wrong class of fire can be ineffective or even dangerous. This course covers all fire classes and how to match the right extinguisher to each type of fire.

Does this subscription automatically renew?

Yes. This is a prepaid subscription that automatically renews at the end of each term at the then-current price unless canceled. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time through your account portal.

What's the difference between Streaming, MP4, USB, and DVD?

Streaming gives you instant online access from any device — no download required. MP4 is a one-time download you host on your own platform such as an LMS, file server, or SharePoint. USB and DVD are physical media shipped to you, best for classroom training where internet access is limited or unavailable.

If I purchase the USB, can I copy the video to share with others?

No. The video on the USB is encrypted and licensed to only be played from the USB. It must be inserted in your computer for it to play.

What documentation is provided for compliance recordkeeping?

The kit includes a compliance manual, employee quiz and answer key, completion certificates, wallet/ID cards, an attendance log, a training outline, and fire safety supplemental printouts — everything needed to document that training was completed and maintain OSHA compliance records.

How do I access the Documentation on the DVD?

You will need to access the DVD with a computer so you can browse to the Documentation folder.
