Our Confined Space Entry for Construction training course helps construction workers understand the hazards of confined spaces and how to enter, work in, and exit them safely in compliance with OSHA Standard 1926 Subpart AA. Many construction worksites contain spaces considered "confined" because their configurations restrict movement — including underground vaults, tanks, manholes, pits, silos, and pipelines. OSHA uses the term "permit-required confined space" to describe confined spaces that contain or have the potential to contain a hazardous atmosphere, engulfment material, converging walls, or other recognized safety hazards. Confined space incidents are often fatal, making proper training critical for every construction worker who enters or works near these environments. Available in English and Spanish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this training satisfy OSHA requirements?

Yes. This course covers the training requirements of OSHA Standard 1926 Subpart AA — the Confined Spaces in Construction standard. Please note that OSHA also requires a written confined space program, site-specific entry permits for permit-required confined spaces, and documented rescue procedures, which must be developed separately by your organization.

What is the difference between this course and the general industry Confined Space Entry course?

Both courses cover the same OSHA 1926 Subpart AA standard and core confined space content, but this version is specifically designed for construction workers and uses construction-site scenarios and language. If your workers are in manufacturing, warehousing, food service, or other non-construction environments, see our general industry Confined Space Entry course.

What is the difference between a confined space and a permit-required confined space?

A confined space has limited means for entry or exit and is not designed for continuous occupancy — such as a tank, pit, or manhole. A permit-required confined space has one or more additional hazard characteristics: a potentially hazardous atmosphere, engulfment potential, converging walls or tapering floors that could trap an entrant, or other recognized safety or health hazards. Permit spaces require a written entry permit, designated attendants, and an emergency rescue plan before entry.

Who needs confined space training — just the entrant, or also the attendant and supervisor?

OSHA requires training for all three roles — authorized entrants, attendants who monitor from outside the space, and entry supervisors. This course covers the responsibilities and training requirements for each role.

Does this subscription automatically renew?

Yes. This is a prepaid subscription that automatically renews at the end of each term at the then-current price unless canceled. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time through your account portal.

What's the difference between Streaming, MP4, USB, and DVD?

Streaming gives you instant online access from any device — no download required. MP4 is a one-time download you host on your own platform such as an LMS, file server, or SharePoint. USB and DVD are physical media shipped to you, best for classroom training where internet access is limited or unavailable.

If I purchase the USB, can I copy the video to share with others?

No. The video on the USB is encrypted and licensed to only be played from the USB. It must be inserted in your computer for it to play.

What documentation is provided for compliance recordkeeping?

The kit includes a compliance manual, employee quiz and answer key, completion certificates, wallet/ID cards, an attendance log, a training outline, and confined space entry supplemental printouts — everything needed to document that training was completed and maintain OSHA compliance records.

How do I access the Documentation on the DVD?

You will need to access the DVD with a computer so you can browse to the Documentation folder.
