Heat Stress Safety

OSHA-Compliant Heat Stress Safety Training

Workers exposed to hot indoor or outdoor environments need training covering heat illness recognition, prevention strategies, hydration, rest and shade requirements, acclimatization, PPE considerations, and emergency response for heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Our programs deliver complete classroom instruction with engaging videos, quizzes, certificates, and trainer materials. While OSHA does not yet have a specific heat standard, employers are required to protect workers from heat hazards under the General Duty Clause (Section 5(a)(1)) and OSHA's National Emphasis Program on heat-related hazards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who needs Heat Stress Safety training?

Any worker exposed to hot indoor or outdoor environments - including construction, agriculture, landscaping, roofing, warehousing, foundries, bakeries, commercial kitchens, laundries, and utility work. Both new and experienced workers need training, with extra attention to workers who are not yet acclimatized to the heat.

Is Heat Stress training required by OSHA?

OSHA does not yet have a specific heat standard, but employers must protect workers from recognized heat hazards under the General Duty Clause (Section 5(a)(1)). OSHA's National Emphasis Program on heat-related hazards directs inspectors to evaluate heat illness prevention programs - including training - and many states (CA, WA, OR, MN, NV, MD) have their own heat illness rules with training requirements.

What topics does the training cover?

Recognition of heat illness signs and symptoms (heat rash, cramps, exhaustion, and stroke), prevention strategies including hydration, rest, shade, and acclimatization, environmental and personal risk factors, the buddy system, emergency response, and the role of PPE and clothing in heat exposure.

What does each kit include?

HD training video (25-30 min), reproducible PowerPoint Presentation, quiz, answer key, wallet cards, certificates of completion, trainer's guide.
