While homicide is the most extreme form of workplace violence, it represents a very small number of workplace violence incidents. Most incidents that occur at the workplace deal with lesser cases of assault, threats, harassment and other violent acts and generally receive less media coverage. It is estimated that nearly two million American workers report being a victim of workplace violence each year with many more acts of violence going unreported.For employers and workers both, this is a difficult topic that is about more than compliance.
