Cranes are used in many different settings including transport, manufacturing, and construction work sites. They are used for loading and unloading freight, lifting equipment and moving materials. While the crane is a vital piece of machinery on worksites, it can cause significant safety issues when incorrectly operated or worked around. Crane operators, and workers in close proximity to the crane, must follow certain procedures and guidelines to ensure their safety and those around them. This training provides in-depth information concerning the use of hand signals to help guide the movement of loads during periods of low visibility or when the operator cannot see the full path of the load. These hand signals are a crucial form of communication that keeps materials moving and both structures and workers safe.
